Man vanishes after friend says he fell from freeway while relieving himself

- Houston police are trying to solve an unusual mystery after a man went missing under bizarre circumstances.

He supposedly stopped to use the restroom on the side of a Houston freeway and vanished.

There are a lot of questions surrounding Donald Ray Crenshaw’s disappearance.

Where is he and why hasn't he come home or shown up for work? But the big question Houston police is asking, is he the victim of foul play?

Loved ones are searching under Highway 59 the Eastex Freeway for 38-year-old Donald Ray Crenshaw.

”We’ve been out all night in dirt, rain, I don’t care. I’m going to do whatever it takes to bring him home to our family.  I haven’t slept,” explains Roxanne Barron, Crenshaw’s girlfriend of 11 years.

The two have a newborn and two other kids together.

Barron says her boyfriend was at their Pasadena apartment drinking with a co-worker Monday. She says the two men left around 3:00 in the afternoon headed to visit another colleague.

Houston police say around 6:30 p.m. a man called 911 saying he was with Crenshaw, stopped his pickup on the shoulder of the highway so Crenshaw could use the restroom and he says Crenshaw fell from the freeway.

”He says he saw him laying on gravel and he said he tried to wave for help but nobody would stop and he left,” says Barron.

The friend later called 911. Police say the call was made near Jensen Drive and Highway 59 where his phone pinged a cell tower. That’s where loved ones are now looking for Crenshaw.

”There’s no evidence of my brother. I’m sorry this is reality. People don’t just disappear. Something has happened,” says Crenshaw’s sister Adrianne Davis.

”It doesn’t add up to us,” Jamaica Davis says.

It doesn't make sense to her that her nephew would use the restroom on the highway during rush hour when gas stations and restaurants are a few feet away.

Plus, the friend says he can't remember which freeway they were on.

“How do you not know where you are?” asks Jamaica Davis

"Every time I close my eyes there’s a different outcome of what happened to my brother. I don’t want not to know. I want to know,” cries Adrianne Davis.

Houston police homicide detectives have been out searching for Crenshaw.

They're still trying to figure out where he is and what happened to him.

They hope any potential witnesses will contact Houston police homicide detectives.
