Large asteroid heading 'close' to Earth

An asteroid is heading towards Earth, but there’s no need to worry. It won't be close enough to hit us.

NASA says the rock is about the size of six football fields and it will pass close to Earth on April 19.

The asteroid will be more than a million miles away. Scientists say there's absolutely no chance of a collision.

Smaller asteroids pass within that distance all the time, but it has been 13 years since such a large one has passed so close.

You’ll be able to see it with a telescope, or you can watch it online.
