CONROE, Texas (FOX 26) - The San Jacinto River Authority released the following statement on Saturday evening:
Beginning tomorrow morning at 8:00 am, the San Jacinto River Authority will open the reservoir for all normal boating activities.
Boaters should still use extra caution because the lake is still above its normal pool level, so some objects are still submerged that would normally be visible. In addition, there is still a considerable amount of floating debris from the storm.
We want to thank everyone for your patience and understanding.
The organization had temporarily closed the lake to motorized boat traffic due to floating objects in the water. The heavy rains this week resulted in a large amount of floating debris from local streams. The lake remains open for swimming, kayaking, canoeing and use other non-motorized vessels.
