Local community activist celebrates black fatherhood, battles stereotypes

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A local community activist wants to use this Father's Day as a platform to celebrate black fatherhood, shatter stereotypes, dispel myths, and let black children know that they are not "loved less" by their fathers.

The annual "Day of Encouragement" for black fathers takes place this Sunday at 3:00 p.m. and all family members are welcome.
