Investigation into Montgomery County inmate's death

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers are conducting an investigation into the death of Phillip Carl Tucker, who was pronounced dead on Thursday night at the county jail.

Montgomery County Precinct 4 deputy constables arrested Tucker on Monday. He was charged with forgery/counterfeit of a governmental document, specifically, U.S. currency. He was booked into Montgomery County Jail on Monday.

Jail staff were conducting security rounds early on Thursday evening when they found Tucker unresponsive.  Medical and security staff immediately began administering life saving measures. 

Tucker was taken by ambulance to Conroe Regional Hospital. He was admitted to the intensive care unit and pronounced dead.

The cause of death is under investigation and and autopsy and toxicology results are pending.
