ROSENBERG, Texas (FOX 26) - George Ranch High School in Rosenberg was temporarily placed on lockdown on Wednesday while officers investigated a tip that a student was in possession of a gun in a bathroom. The school says the lockdown was lifted after the allegations were determined to not be credible.
According to school officials, a school resource officer assigned to the school received the tip and quickly began to investigate the allegations. The school was placed on lockdown status for the safety of the students and staff.
Officials say two students of interest were identified in the investigation but were found not to be in possessing of a gun. Lockdown was lifted when officers determined there was no threat to anyone on campus.
