At the Dublin Airport on May 10, two women immediately recognized each other despite having never met, and embraced in an emotional hug. Lesley Fagan, a 64-year-old who lives in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, discovered she had an older half-sister in 1989 and until recently was unable to locate her.
With the help of Facebook and two genealogists, Fagan discovered her half sister—given up for adoption just after birth— was living in Perth, Australia. Joan Crawford-Murray, 67, says she had no idea she had a sister until Fagan contacted her daughter via Facebook. The two began arranging a meeting via social media and now reunited, plan to spend nearly three weeks together making up a for a lifetime of lost memories.
