Human remains found at Waste Management facility in Chambers County

- Detectives are investigating after human remains were discovered in a Waste Management facility in Chambers County. Officials have not yet identified the remains but believe they are that of a male between the age of 13 and 50.

Chambers County deputies say a Waste Management employee discovered the remains at their facility in the 4700 block of TriCity Beach Road around 5 p.m. on August 22. Deputies and detectives confirmed they were the remains of a human male and requested the assistance of Texas Rangers and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice cadaver dogs.

Investigators believe the remains were dumped on Tuesday and were from  were from solid waste collected in Harris, Liberty or Chambers County. An autopsy on the remains has been ordered and Chambers County detectives, Texas Rangers and TDCJ continue to investigate. Detectives are reviewing missing persons cases.
