HPD searching for missing Houston pair

The search for two missing Houstonians wrapped up in Bear Creek Park Wednesday evening and is expected to continue Thursday morning.

Houston police say Kristlyn Gibson and Sidney Taylor, both 35 years old, disappeared from Austin overnight Friday night into Saturday morning. The two were staying with a friend in Austin. They went to a concert Friday night, then to a club after that, and no one has heard from them since.

"They've got them on surveillance leaving this club, and were going to spend the night at a friend's house ten minutes away, and never made it to the friends house," Says Tim Miller, founder of Texas Equusearch. "All their clothes and everything--still at the friend's house in Austin."

Austin police started the investigation, but Houston police got involved when Taylor's vehicle was found in Mid-town Houston. Houston police asked the volunteer search organization to look in west Harris County because a ping from Taylor's cell phone was in the area.

"Something had to be foul play somewhere," said Calvin Davis, a good friend of Taylor.

Davis says he and Taylor were college roommates for two years. He says Taylor and Gibson were part of a close circle of friends but not romantically involved.

Davis says Gibson is a single mother with one son, and Taylor is married and has 4 children. He says Taylor was the type of person who always checked in with family and friends.

"It has just been too long, and he just loves us too much to make us worry like this," Davis says. "It's all kind of surreal, because they were doing things all the right way. To just come up missing is something that has us all puzzled.

Police ask anyone with information to call Houston Police Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
