HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston police officers are watching a 15-minute video to prepare for Open Carry.
Officers received the video from a link sent to many of them over the last few weeks.
They're required to watch three videos telling them how to handle people who are openly carrying guns.
But will a 15 minute video do the trick for a force of more than 5,000 officers?
Houston Police Union President Ray Hunt says the video won't likely be enough, but it would be difficult to train more than 5,000 officers before January 1, when the new Open Carry law goes into effect in Texas.
A spokesperson for HPD says they're not sure the video will be enough, but their policy on Open Carry is fluid and they will adjust when needed.
