HPD: No injuries reported after shots fired at Houston Can Academy

Houston police say no one was injured after shots were fired at the Houston CAN Academy on Hardy Street Tuesday morning.

According to police, a man opened fire outside Houston CAN Academy around 8:25 a.m. but no one was struck. Police say the known suspect remains at large.

Investigators say a student's boyfriend was dropping her off at school, but the student's family was already there and waiting for her. Police say the boyfriend got out of his car, confronted the family, and eventually pulled out a gun and started shooting at his girlfriend's brother. The brother was not shot.

Police say the boyfriend got back into his car and drove off. Police say they know who the suspect is and are consulting with the district attorney's office about charges that could be pressed against him.
