Houston woman charged following heinous act of animal cruelty

A Houston woman has been charged with animal cruelty after recklessly killing her shih tzu mix.

Yesica Tzoc, 26, allegedly shoved a parakeet by hand, followed by a metal rod, into the dog's throat, impending the dog's ability to breathe. Court documents from the incident in October 2015 state that the dog, named Emily, died as a result.

Court documents say Tzoc has been charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals.
