HOCKLEY, Texas (FOX 26) - The Houston SPCA says workers rescued six cats, 45 dogs, a parakeet, and two quaker parrots from a Hockley home on Tuesday, in conjunction with the Waller County Sheriff's Department.
The animals were rescued from "deplorable conditions" in a home filled with urine, feces and stacks of crates, newspapers and debris, according to the Houston SPCA. A warrant was served by the Waller County Sheriff's Department to the homeowner who is not living in the home.
The Houston SPCA says some of the animals have untreated medical issues. The animals are being taken back to the Houston SPCA campus for full exams and any necessary treatment.
A court hearing for custody is set for next Tuesday.
