HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Rockets organization wants to honor victims, first responders and community members, devastated by Friday's school shooting at Santa Fe High School during Thursday's Western Conference finals Game 5 showdown at 8 p.m. against the Warriors. Rockets' owner Tilman Fertitta is now securing the tickets to accommodate for roughly 300 seniors from the school who will be in attendance.
"We're just trying to do our little bit. 30 years from now--they'll think about going to that Western Conference game instead of what they had to go through their last days of being a senior, " said Fertitta.
Last night, the Houston Astros also honored and hosted students from Santa Fe High School and came in with a 4-1 win. A video tribute is slated for tonight's game, and ribbons will by worn by the Rockets players. The Santa Fe choir is also featured during tonight's game.
