Houston man accused of strangling his wife on July 4th

HPD homicide investigators say that a 67-year-old man has been charged with murder in the strangling death of his own wife. The suspect, Francisco Garza Olazaran was accused of strangling his own wife after her body was discovered inside a car at 7018 Harrisburg Boulevard in Houston's East End.

HPD patrol officers responded to an assault call at 7018 Harrisburg Blvd, and discovered 63-year-old Maria Olazaran unresponsive and sitting inside a vehicle with her husband.  Olazaran was then transported by paramedics to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy report determined that the wife had been strangled.

Investigators then spoke with the husband, Olazaran who talked to detectives about his wife's death. Olazaran was taken into custody and charged.
