Heavy rains bring flooding in Brenham

HOUSTON (FOX26) - Many residents are trying to pick up the pieces after flood waters destroyed roads and properties in Brenham.

Since 2004, the Daniels have lived on Hwy 36, and have never experienced flooding like what happened last night. Their house was knocked off its foundation.The flood waters were so high it picked up a trailer from behind the home and dragged it across the highway were is crashed through the guard rail.

Arthur Daniel made it out of the home in time when he went back to rescue the family dog. He had to spend the night in this 18-wheeler and his wife, Janet, had to spend the night at the court house where she works.

Both were reunited this morning, and although the damage done to the home is heart breaking, they were in good spirits, saying that material things can be replaced, and they are blessed with a supportive family.
