Harris County deputy struck by suspected drunk driver during traffic stop

A Harris County deputy is in the hospital and a driver behind bars after the deputy was struck by a vehicle in east Harris County. 

It happened just after 10 p.m. on Saturday on FM 2100 at FM 1942 in Crosby. The deputy had just finished up a traffic stop when he was walking to his patrol unit. Investigators say another driver slammed into his unit, pushed it sideways and struck the deputy, knocking him to the ground.

The deputy was air lifted to the hospital as a precaution.  The Harris County Sheriff's Office says he's in good condition and his injuries are not life threatening.  Authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of DWI.
