Gyrfalcon returns to live cam for closeups

A gyrfalcon keeps making its way to a live cam set up in Canada's frozen Manitoba region and smiling for the camera. No one quite knows why.

The rare bird is the largest of the falcon family, and one of the most secretive.

So far, he's returned to this one spot more than a dozen times to step in front of the live-feed operated by Churchill Northern Studies Center.

The cam was set up initially to record the Northern Lights.

You can check out the camera here.
