Residents at an apartment complex are terrorized when a gunman opens fire, even shooting into a car narrowly missing a 10 year old boy and it was all caught on camera.  The violent scene looks like something from a movie but it's actually from Friday afternoon at a Northwest Houston apartment complex.

The shots rang out in broad daylight on New Year's Day 2016.  Kids were on Christmas vacation and outside when the gunfire erupted at the Copper Tree Apartments on West Gulf Bank Road.

"My daughter called me crying saying she had just run into the house because there was shooting outside.  She just was scared telling me to come home," says one resident who, understandably, was afraid to show her face on camera.

When the bullets stopped flying Sherry realized one gun shot was just short of piercing her front door and lodged just above it "and I have a five year old who was in there watching TV.  We were all safe.  Thank God we were all safe," explains Sherry.

Thomas Robertson's 10 year old nephew was sitting in this car when bullets ripped right through leaving holes in the car.   Fortunately, they missed the 10 year old.

"He could have been dead, could have been dead," Robertson shakes his head.

Amazingly no one was shot but residents are left fearing the gunman, who they say argued with another resident, will return.

"You don't know if it's over or if something else will occur," adds Sherry.

Houston police detectives confirm they have this video, are investigating and looking for the shooter.

"He needs to be caught," says Robertson.

"I just pray and try to keep our eyes and ears open," says Sherry.

If you know who the man is who was caught on camera shooting wildly at Copper Tree Apartments you are asked to call Houston police.
