HOUSTON, Texas (FOX 26) - Starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, the Gulf Freeway southbound lanes will be closed from Scarsdale Boulevard to NASA Bypass 1 for construction.
If you're driving that way during the weekend, you're going to want to take an alternative route. Drivers should expect delays and law enforcement officers will be out at all intersections to help assist with traffic.
Construction on the northbound and southbound lanes is projected to be completed by 2018. The southbound lanes will reopen to traffic on Monday at 6 a.m.
