CLEVELAND, Texas (FOX 26) - A teenage girl in the Cleveland area is recovering after being severely beaten just after getting off a school bus.
Police say the girl had just gotten off the bus near CR 331 and 3316 after school on Friday and was heading home. As the bus continued the route, witnesses tell police two cars pulled up and several people immediately began assaulting her. Police say the girl fell to the ground and was further assaulted, causing trauma to her head and face.
The girl was transported by LifeFlight to a hospital. She is now recovering at home.
Police were able to make one arrest for aggravated assault. Police asking the public for help to find others. Anyone with information or video of the assault is asked to call CISD Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 800-392-7867. Callers can remain anonymous.
