MIDLOTHIAN, Texas (AP) — A police chase ended in a head-on collision between the pursued van and a pickup truck that left both drivers dead. Police say officers were pursuing a van stolen Friday from a Waxahachie construction site when it veered across a median on U.S. 287 near Midlothian, slammed head-on into the oncoming truck and burst into flames.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Officials say an unruly passenger aboard an American Airlines flight from Charlotte, North Carolina to Las Vegas prompted an unscheduled landing at Dallas-Fort Worth. American Airlines Flight 1735 was about midway through its 2,000-mile flight Friday when the disruption happened. The plane landed shortly after 1:30 p.m. and resumed its journey about 45 minutes later.

CHARLES CITY, Iowa (AP) —Senator Ted Cruz says former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lied about what she knew about the Benghazi attack and American voters will deliver a "spanking," just like he does to his 5-year-old daughter when she lies. Cruz made the comments Friday in response to a question from an audience member at a campaign stop in Iowa.

HOUSTON (AP) — A Houston surgical resident is jailed on first-degree felony charges after four children accused him of sexually abusing them. Officials say the children ranged in age from 4 to 10 and were not patients of Doctor Ricky Haywood-Watson. The 37-year-old Baylor College of Medicine surgical resident is in the Harris County Jail on $400,000 bonds.
