FOX 26 News Brief for May 21, 2018

Teachers will return to Santa Fe High School this Wednesday, after a deadly school shooting Friday. Students will return on Tuesday, May 29. The Galveston County sheriff said the suspected shooter is in the county jail in solitary confinement and on suicide watch.

The family of 16-year-old Shana Fisher is living in a nightmare after finding out Shana was shot and killed at school Friday.

The community of Santa Fe is coming together to support those who lost loved ones. One man and his daughters built crosses representing the 10 victims killed and placed them in their front yard.

Local leaders are considering security strategies, including metal detectors, after the mass shooting at Santa Fe High School.

Five local schools reported threats today. Authorities found a gun in a student's backpack at Hargrave High School, and found a student with an unloaded gun at League City Intermediate.
