FOX 26 News Brief for June 14, 2018

A mother in Spring is accused of leaving her 7-year-old son in a hot car while she shoplifted at Walmart. Dimitric Knight is charged with felony child endangerment.

It was day two of testimony in the murder trial of Terry Thompson. He's accused of killing Johnny Hernandez during a fight outside of a restaurant. Today the jury heard from a witness who testified that Hernandez was drunk and looking for a fight.

We have an update to the investigation into alleged abuse at a state licensed juvenile housing facility for girls in Montgomery County. Two current Care Cottage employees and one former Care Cottage employee have been arrested.

The Houston ISD Board held a public meeting today. During closed session, the board is scheduled to discuss staffing changes, an external performance audit, and appointing hte current interim superintendent as the new superintendent of schools.

The City of Houston is letting a foot and a half of water out of Lake Houston through the dam, in preparation for heavy rain this weekend.
