FOX 26 News Brief for April 30, 2018

La Porte police are investigating an officer-involved shooting at a gas station in Pasadena. Police said a detective serving a felony warrant fired his gun and injured Jeremy Endsley.

A woman out for a walk escaped an abductor, but the man didn't give up. Just five blocks over, the man grabbed another woman off of her bicycle and forced her into his car. The woman managed to escape and is warning others to be on the alert.

Michael Parker, the man who police said murdered his girlfriend then tried to kill himself last Thursday, has died from his injuries.

Officials have ruled a 10-year-old boy's tragic death in northeast Houston this weekend was accidental. The child was found dead inside a dryer. According to the medical examiner, the boy was electrocuted.

Houston ISD met this afternoon to discuss its $115 million budget deficit. That deficit could possibly lead to more than 200 layoffs.

Former President George H.W. Bush is still in the hospital tonight. The Bush family spokesman said the 93-year-old will remain at Houston Methodist to continue to regain his strength.

Cleveland police, firefighters, and Chance Ward captured a nearly 12-foot gator early this morning. The alligator was blocking traffic on U.S. 59.
