Six men were arrested for trying to have sex with underage girls. Authorities wrapped up a major undercover operation in Harris County targeting people soliciting sex from minors online. Police said two suspects from the Houston area, Fahad Ghani Siddiqui and Eleno Garza, were former teachers. Garza was a substitute teacher at Pasadena ISD, had a daycare license, and worked at a YMCA in Waco. The other four suspects are from Houston, Humble, and Dickinson. Police said the suspects thought they were talking with girls ages 14 and 15 on social media, and agreed on a place to meet to have sex. Instead, officers were there waiting for them.

A one-year-old is in critical condition after being hit by a car. Police said the parents were walking the child in a stroller at around 1 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Main and Pierce streets. They reportedly crossed at a red light, but the car had the right of way. The driver stopped and showed no signs of impairment. The district attorney will determine if any charges will be filed.

Heavy rains have caused some flooding along the San Jacinto River and with Hurricane Harvey still on a lot of people’s minds, many Humble residents are on edge. Some tell us they’re keeping an eye on the river. Others are worried because Lake Conroe is releasing some water. Officials say if you are worried, visit the National Weather Service website (www.weather.gov) to viewer river flood gauges throughout the Houston area.

In Florida, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School reopens on Wednesday, almost two weeks after a gunman took the lives of 17 students. Counselors and therapy dogs will be made available on campus.

The University of Houston said there is no threat to the campus or the community after investigating a former student’s social media posts. Some students voiced concerns on Monday after viewing troubling posts online. University police and Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office deputies investigated. Again, they said there is no threat.

KIPP Sunnyside High School was placed on lockdown on Tuesday morning after reports of a threat. Houston police responded to the call and found no threat inside the school. An investigation is underway.

It is the opening night of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Country music legend Garth Brooks will perform on the brand new star-shaped RODEOHOUSTON stage. He will also perform the last concert of the rodeo. Tickets are sold out.
