Two former Houston Independent School District teachers from two different campuses are accused of inappropriate conduct with students. Sources tell FOX 26 News that special needs life skills teacher Vinod Madathilkjunu fled back to India after the Houston ISD Police Department began to investigate him. He taught at Hartman Middle School. The other former Houston ISD teacher, Mario Alonzo Juliangarza, taught at Deady Middle School before moving on to another school district.

In a slim vote on Thursday night, the Houston ISD board of trustees voted 5 to 4 against seeking private partnerships with companies to intervene at underperforming schools in the district.

One of the law enforcement officers shot during a standoff on Tuesday is out of the hospital. Harris County Sheriff's Office Sergeant James Smejkal and two Texas Attorney General's Office agents were wounded as they tried to serve a warrant.

A judge is extending the temporary restraining order that halts the implementation of Proposition B.

Neighbors in part of the Houston Heights district have been waiting for a month to get their recyclables picked up.
