HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Whether it’s negative or positive, everyone can agree that Hugh Hefner made many contributions to the American culture with his brand and even helped launch some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Mikki Chernoff Moore, a former Playboy model here in Houston says meeting Hef completely changed her life.
"He gave every single girl who posed for Playboy a national door of opportunity," Chernoff-Moore said.
She came to this country from England when she was 17 years old, hoping to achieve the American Dream. She saw Hugh Hefner as a role model to help her get there.
"I worked for him in front of the camera first, and then I built a career with Playboy behind the camera, and so I saw him from both sides. I went to the Playboy Mansion parties and saw how he was with Fabio and Leonardo and Paris Hilton and then I heard his rants when we didn't get the pictures how he wanted them."
After years in front, and behind the camera, Chernoff-Moore now has her own photography business based in our area, cleverly named The Bunny Experience. She credits her success to working under Hugh Hefner. Now all that's left are the photos, but Chernoff-Moore says his legacy will continue through his family and the many who found success after Playboy.
"I think he did he enjoy his life, he made it work for him, and he made a great life and gave great opportunities to a ton of us, and I'll be forever grateful," Chernoff-Moore said.
