HOUSTON (FOX 26)
For one day only, the Harris County District Attorney's Office is inviting anyone with outstanding Class C warrants or other pending charges in Harris County Precinct 7 to resolve them without having to appear in court. District Attorney Devon Anderson announced the Make it Right! community program during a visit to FOX 26 News at Noon.
The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 at the Kingdom Builders' Center on 6011 West Orem Drive, hosted by the Windsor Village Church Family. Other agencies taking part in the event include the Harris County Public Defender's Office and the Harris County Precinct 7 Constable's Office.
The purpose of Make it Right! is to help anyone with unresolved warrants for low-level, nonviolent misdemeanor offenses. The goal is to provide them with an opportunity to "make things right" for themselves by getting their outstanding warrants removed and their pending cases resolved in a non-traditional and non-confrontational manner, with NO immediate financial cost and NO risk of arrest.
The Make It Right! event will also include a resource fair with job training, educational opportunities and legal referral services.
