First responder reads to little boy after car crash

Steffani Blair is a busy mom, and when she passed by an accident on the Loop 202 San Tan Freeway, her motherly instincts kicked in.
She is now speaking out about a viral image that shows valley first responders at their best.
"I had left work and was headed to see a patient, and I just saw on the other side of the freeway two cars facing oncoming traffic," said Steffani Blair.
She stopped, jumped the median divider, and ran to the aid of the driver Shana Pacheco and her kids.
"The mom was getting out, she had already gotten her daughter out of her car seat and was working on getting her little boy out of his car seat, so I kind of said I am a nurse, can I help?" said Blair.
After checking on the driver of the second car, Steffani sat with the family until EMS crews arrived. Moments later she sat this, a Chandler Firefighter reading aloud to little Lucas. She captured the heartwarming image on camera.

A heartwarming story coming out of Chandler today. Thank you very much to Steffani for bringing this to our attention,...

"Partially in hopes that this sweet little boy will have memories, probably that this will be the memory, not the trauma," said Blair.
Steffani posted the image and described the scene saying "Be kind to our first responders, they have a tough job, and they do it EXCEPTIONALLY well. Grateful to have witnessed this sweet tender mercy today."
Her words and powerful image have gone viral, being shared thousands of times.
"They see so much of the bad, or you hear much of the bad, you forget about the good, and I just kind of wanted to remind people just to look around it's there, it's everywhere," said Blair.
Steffani is extremely humble and says she was just doing her job as a nurse. Lucas's mom responded to Steffani's photo online, saying, "You are truly an angel walking this earth, and words will never be able to express my gratitude for your kind and selfless act."
