A three-alarm fire left 26 apartments "unlivable" at Yorktown Crossing Apartments in Cy-Fair on Wednesday evening, according to officials.

No injuries were reported among residents, pets, or fire fighters.

Flames broke out at 6:30 pm according to official reports. Some residents say they saw two lightning strikes hit the building.

On the scene were firefighters from departments in Cy-Fair Volunteer, City of Houston, Jersey Village, Spring, and Harris County.

According to Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department's Public Information Officer, firefighters arrived and entered the building shortly after the fire began. When the fire become too aggressive and major sections of the roof collapsed, firefighters exited the building and attacked the fire defensively outside until it was under control. By three hours in, hot spots were still being tackled.
