Fight over food at Salvation Army ends in stabbing

-
MACON, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities say an argument about breakfast at a Salvation Army in Macon led to fight involving a cooking pot and ended in a stabbing.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office said 64-year-old Benny Rhodes was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after the stabbing around 5:30 a.m. Saturday at the Salvation Army on Broadway.

Sheriff's officials say Rhodes was arguing with 52-year-old Joseph Quenga in the kitchen about his breakfast when they say Rhodes picked up a pot and struck Quenga.

Sheriff's officials say the men began to struggle, and that Rhodes grabbed a knife and stabbed Quenga in his forearm.

The Telegraph reports that Quenga was listed in stable condition at a hospital.

Bibb County Jail records do not list an attorney for Rhodes who could be reached for comment.
