HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Family of 38-year-old Donald Crenshaw say his body has been found near where he was last seen.
HPD says a body has been located at Chenevert and I-59 in northeast Downtown. Family said they believe this is the body of Crenshaw, and say police found Crenshaw's wallet with his ID on the body.
Crenshaw went missing under unusual circumstances on Monday. He supposedly stopped to use the restroom on the side of a Houston freeway and vanished.
Roxanne Barron, Crenshaw’s girlfriend of 11 years, said her boyfriend was at their Pasadena apartment drinking with a co-worker Monday. She says the two men left around 3:00 p.m. headed to visit another colleague.
Houston police say around 6:30 p.m. a man called 911 saying he was with Crenshaw, stopped his pickup on the shoulder of the highway so Crenshaw could use the restroom and he says Crenshaw fell from the freeway.
”He says he saw him laying on gravel and he said he tried to wave for help but nobody would stop and he left,” says Barron.
The friend later called 911. He said he didn't remember what freeway they were on. Police say the call was made near Jensen Drive and Highway 59 where his phone pinged a cell tower. That’s where loved ones focused their search for Crenshaw.
