A devastating fire ripped through a North Houston apartment complex, forcing 16 families from their homes. Dozens of firefighters were sent to 13500 block of Northborough Drive and Rankin Road around 4 a.m to battle a massive blaze.  According to iniital reports, one person was injured from the fire, and 16 units were destroyed.

One resident said she was called by a neighbor and told that her home was engulfed in flames. It was the second house fire she's survived. She tried to rush and save her dog inside, and luckily she rescued her just in time. "I just reacted and tried to run inside and save my dog....We saved her, so that's a blessing. I don't know where to go from here."
