Lashonda Jenkins is still in a state of disbelief.

"She was right there... She was right there."

Their shattered apartment might look like the scene of a horrible accident to most, but to Lashonda Jenkins it looks like a Christmas miracle.

"Yes it is. It was nothing  but God, you know. because the car was basically on top of her."

It was just after 9:00 p.m. Christmas Eve when Lashonda heard a loud crash in her daughter's bedroom.

"I went to the room  and I couldn't enter the room and a car had crashed through the wall on top of my 11 year old."

Denerica was trapped for about an hour.

When they freed her she had a broken arm, burns, and cuts.

She's recovering at Texas Children's Hospital.

While Lashonda is calling it a miracle, others are saying while it could've been worse and it shouldn't have happened at all.

"It breached the living room," said a man visiting the family. "And it's crazy because a person was intoxicated at the moment."

The driver was a family friend. The girl could be released from the hospital tonight or tomorrow.
