Woman stabbed to death in Stafford, husband taken into custody

A woman was stabbed to death in Stafford this afternoon after a domestic dispute, authorities say. According to Fort Bend County deputies, the husband called authorities to let them know that he killed his wife.

That call was made around 6 p.m. from the 500 block of Stafford Springs, and when deputies arrived at the home, the husband came out without resistance. Deputies say he got into an argument with his wife and ended up stabbing her to death.

The couple have two children, a boy and girl, who we're not home during the time of the incident and are currently with relatives. The husband was taken into custody but had to be transported to a local hospital due to complications with diabetes.

Neighbors say they would see the couple and they were usually quiet, however, today, the husband was acting strange in the street.

"He was just kind of walking around here talking on his cell phone looking around, and just didn't feel right, it looked a little eerie, like he was concerned or worried about something," neighbor Deena Neal said.

"It's a sad day. We have two children now without a mother and quite honestly without a father and now what?" Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls said.

The husband is currently being interviewed by detectives at the hospital, he has not been charged at this time.
