Customers say they paid roofing company thousands but got nothing in return

- “Knocked on the door, they were real smooth, real slick,” said Joseph Guillen as he described employees of Texas State Roofing and Remodeling.

All the unhappy customers told us the same thing.

“They were door to door salesman,” one customer said.

Customers say they didn’t seek out Texas State Roofing and Remodeling located at 13831 Northwest Freeway. The company came to them after their roofs were damaged by storms.

“The young men were walking down the street going house to house,” said Angela Coronado.

Just leave everything to them. That’s what customers say they were told by Texas State Roofing and remodeling.

“They made it seem seamless,” Guillen said. “They would take care of all the insurance paperwork."

“These guys are convincing,” Coronado said. “They really are.”

Customers say after they gave the company a check all they got was the run-around.

“I wrote the check, they cashed it right away,” said Coronado.

“They would just give me excuse after excuse,” said a customer who asked that we not show her face or say her name.

She says her elderly parents lost over two grand to Texas State Roofing and Remodeling.

“You’re either doing the job next week or we’re cutting you off,” the woman said she told the company. “You need to give us a refund.”

She says she did get a refund check but it bounced.

We found no one at the company’s northwest side office and we tried several times to reach them by phone.

“There were no issues when the company first applied,” said Leah Napoliello with the Better Business Bureau.

But after a number of complaints, the BBB is giving Texas State Roofing and Remodeling the boot.

“As soon as we saw a problem occurring we didn’t waste time. We started the revocation process,” Napoliello said. “We don’t want consumers to be taken advantage of by this company or any others that are behaving this way.”

The BBB says it’s been in contact with the DA’s office about the company.
