CROSBY, Texas - Crosby residents were delighted to host the President, saying they were witnessing history, since this will probably be the only time a sitting U.S. president will visit the small city.
"This is an awesome feeling to have the President of the United States come to our little town of Crosby here," said James Midkiff of Crosby.
President Trump waved to the hundreds who lined FM 2100 to get a glimpse of him, but this trip was about business. President Trump’s executive orders were about boosting energy jobs.
It's an issue that the people of Crosby take seriously.
"Well it’s to do with all the pipelines, our workers. My husband is a pipeliner, my son is a pipeliner, and it’s just good for our economy and it’s good for Crosby." says Brenda Wilson.
The residents here and in surrounding areas believe this will cause the U.S. to be less dependent on energy sources from other countries, and boost the economy.
Kevin Martin says there will be “more jobs for US citizens, open up more pipelines, and more oil and gas which is big here in Texas, but for the country if oil and gas is doing well the country is doing well.”
