Crash leaves 18-wheeler hanging off I-10 overpass

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - An 18-wheeler crash on Interstate 10 near Freeport Street shut down several main lanes of the highway today, and DPS says drivers can expect more delays tomorrow while repairs are made to the roadway.

According to authorities, a truck driver pulling a semi-trailer was traveling westbound on I-10 at an unsafe speed when the driver hit the inside barrier, the truck jack-knifed, and part of the truck and trailer were left hanging off the overpass.

No one was injured and DPS says the truck was not in danger of falling.
