There's a full day of events on the schedule today, starting at 9am and lasting all the way through 9pm. The official mascot of the Houston Super Bowl host committee will be making several appearances around town with giveaways. Her are three things to know: at 11, Metro will reveal special transit plans for the big event.
We;re also expecting to get our first look at how hundres of metro buses will look for the Super Bowl and right after that at noon today, Midtown will host the ultimate tailgating experience.
Midtown Park is trying to raise million dollars to really make this three acre space the premier place to be. They want to install public art, a performing arts pavilion, miniature bayou and playground with water features for the kids.
Then tomorrow, the touchdown tour is on the road again. The tour stops at Sunnyside Park. This is the Super Bowl Host Committee's Traveling Celebration of Football to raise excitement for the big game. From 10am-2pm, there will be games, food and special appearances. This is good for people of all ages. Best thing is it's fee. Sunnyside Park is at 3502 Bellfort in Southeast Houston.
