Construction workers victims in ten robbery cases

Robbed at gunpoint -- that's the trend some construction workers are observing on the south side of Houston. Harris County Precinct 7 Constable May Walker's Office deputies say there have been at least ten cases over the last year involving construction workers being robbed.

Sgt. Marcus Grant says mainly Hispanic workers have been targeted on the south side of Houston because they tend to ask for their weekly pay in cash instead of a check or direct deposit. He adds that the agency is beefing up patrols in Pct. 7. He also says some construction site managers have been told to try and pay their employees who don't have a bank account with a cash card instead.
