Conroe student found with gun at 9th Grade Campus

A student at the Conroe High School 9th Grade Campus was found to have brought a gun to school on Monday, the district says.

According to Conroe ISD, no threats were made and there is no indication there was any intent to use the gun at school

Citing privacy laws, the district said it could not comment specifically on student discipline but said the matter is being addressed accordingly.

This letter from the principal was sent to families today:

In an effort to keep you informed, I wanted to let you know that one of our students was found to be in possession of a gun at the Ninth Grade Campus today. No threats were made against any students or the school, and we have no indication there was any intent to use the handgun while at school. This is a serious violation of the law and the Student Code of Conduct. While we are unable to comment specifically on student discipline due to privacy laws, this matter is being addressed accordingly.

The Conroe ISD Police Department along with our administrative team take these situations very seriously and do everything possible to make sure Conroe High School, our Ninth Grade Campus and Conroe ISD are safe.
