Ten people have been transported to an area hospital after a commercial bus was involved in a crash with an 18-wheeler in Fort Bend County.
The accident happened around 7 p.m. Wednesday in the southbound lanes of Highway 59 near F.M. 360 just outside of Beasley.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety, the bus was traveling southbound in the inside lane of 59.
At the same time, a truck tractor trailer was on the outside lane.
Investigators say the bus had a flat tire and slowed down. When the 18-wheeler began to pass, the bus clipped the back trailer of 18-wheeler.
The bus then struck the guard rail.
According to DPS, eight adults and two children were transported to area hospitals. The injuries are described as non-life threatening.
The patients were transported to Oak Ben Hospital and Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital.
Investigators say the bus was out of Houston en route to Mexico when the accident happened.
No charges are expected.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
