HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A child has been killed after a hit-and-run in southwest Houston.
The Houston Police Department's Vehicular Crimes unit responded to the scene at 59 Southwest Freeway and Westpark Dr., where the crash happened shortly after 6 p.m.
The Houston Police Department says a silver truck was clipped by a red car in the intersection of 59 and Westpark Dr., sending the truck spinning onto the median.
There were 5 children in the truck, ranging in age from 5 to 16. They were taken to area hospitals, along with the driver of the truck.
An 11-year-old girl has since died as a result of the accident.
Police are currently looking for the red car involved in the accident. Anyone that may have heard anything in the area is asked to call Crime Stoppers or the Houston Police Department.
