BEAUMONT, Texas (FOX 26)
Traffic in and out of the ExxonMobil Beaumont refinery was halted as agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated a bomb threat at the facility.
The threat was reported by the facility to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at around 11 a.m. Wednesday when someone contacted the refinery and said there was a bomb on the property that would explode later in the day. Deputies established a perimeter and spoke with the worker who had spoken with the person who issued the threat.
The Joint Terrorism Task Force of the FBI was also contacted about the threat.
