Body found in south Montgomery County

Detectives are working to determine what caused the death of a man whose body was found in a wooded section in the Spring area.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at 11 a.m. Thursday to Dakota Ridge Place after someone reported seeing a suspicious vehicle.

Deputies spoke to a resident who said he did not recognize the vehicle. When he contacted the owners of the home where the truck was parked, the owners told him to contact law enforcement.

After deputies checked the license plate on the Ford pickup truck, they determined it belonged to a person reported missing out of Harris County.

When deputies searched a wooded section behind the neighborhood, they found the body in a shallow body of water approximately 50 yards into the tree line.

MCSO homicide violent crimes detectives are conducting an investigation but have not found any obvious signs of foul play. Justice of the Peace Pct. 5 Judge M. Masden ordered an autopsy to determine the man's cause of death. The identification of the man is being withheld until his family is notified.
