Barn catches fire in Pasadena

Pasadena Fire crews got called out to the 5100 block of Oak Avenue bear Pansy at about 4 p.m. Sunday. When crews arrived on scene the barn was up in flames.

Firefighters were able to save three miniature ponies inside, but two did not make it.

We were told the man that owns the property is in his nineties and that he suffered from smoke inhalation. A firefighter also suffered from heat exhaustion, but both men are expected to be okay.

“It is still being investigated, Pasadena arson is here but it does look like it started in the back, we were able to cut the fire and it didn’t make it into the house, so we were able to save the house,” says assistant fire chief Art Aleman.

No word on what caused the fire.
