Astros fans return to Houston after Game 6 Mattress Mack ticket giveaway

There are plenty of exhausted Astros fans and Houston first responders back in Houston on Wednesday morning, after their big trip to L.A. for Game 7. Houston's own Mattress Mack sent them to the West Coast for Game 6 of the World series.

For the past 48 hours, just imagine the exhilarating moments for these 20 fans and first responders who were winners to the Mattress Mack World Series ticket giveaway.  According to some of winners in the giveaway, Mattress Mack wanted to do this for so many people.

He sent one of his employees as well.  Dusty Vanderburg who works at Mattress Mack's Grand Parkway location said, "I just know he has a really big heart, and he knows the Astros."  Dusty said that he learned so much from Hurricane Harvey first responders who were also a big part of the ticket giveaway. "I learned about a diver who made over 100 rescues. I learned about an HPD helicopter crew. They were finding people on rooftops. We had two guys who were just regular citizens out there making deliveries. One had a boat, one had a jeep, and they rescued over 25 people."

Vanderburg continued, "People really see how strong our community is. I hate that it has to take a traumatic event for it to happen, but our community is so strong. The nation saw what Houston can do. Mattress Mack says, 'If it is to be, it's up to me. That's why we wanted to take charge and take the initiative.'"

Game 7 of the World Series is on Wednesday night at Dodgers Stadium--Astros take on the Dodgers.  Mattress Mack picked up the tab for 20 Astros fans and first responders to attend Game 6.
