Dozens of Astros fans were living up outside Minute Maid Park Friday night waiting to get their hands on a 1997 Jeff Bagwell replica jersey. The first 10,000 inside got one, presented by Coca-Cola.

"I got here at like around 12:30 and they were here about ten minutes later", says Jesse Almaraz.

"We had to get the jersey", says Lauren Erickson.

It's all part of a celebration to honor the newly inducted Bagwell to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

"He was probably the most well rounded player we've ever had, he could play defense he could hit for power, he could hit for average, he could run the bases and if it hadn't been for an arm injury he probably would have continued to play even longer", says president of business operations Reid Ryan.

Throughout the weekend fans will get the Cooperstown experience here in Houston. Friday with special giveaways and a newly painted field. Saturday the first 10,000 inside will get a Bagwell bobblehead and before the game at 5:25 pm, a ceremony will take place. Fans will get to hear from the former Astros player, as well as several of his close friends and former colleagues.

"So we have Phil Gardner who was a manager when Jeff played he's going to speak, we have Lance Burkman he's going to get up and talk about what Jeff was like as a teammate", says Ryan.

Saturday nights game is sold out except for standing room only tickets. On Sunday kids will also get to run the bases.
