Argument leads to gunfire outside Pearland Town Center

PEARLAND, Texas (FOX 26) - Police say one person was wounded following a shooting outside the Pearland Town Center.

Officers arrived arrived to the European Wax Center located on the Pearland Town Center complex in the 11300 block of Broadway Street at around 11:15 a.m. Saturday following a report of a gunshot fired. 

Investigators say the shooting began as a verbal confrontation between two men inside the European Wax Center. Both of the men were asked to leave the building.

Police say one of the men had a handgun and shot the other man.

The man who was shot was treated on the scene by Pearland officers and emergency medical services before being he was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Witnesses to the incident provided a description of the suspect and officers were able to find and detain the suspect and a person of interest a short time later.

Pearland police are continuing their investigation.
